This is the lab where we do our Fourier imaging/spectroscopy, where the data we need to compile our cherished dispersion diagrams are acquired. Well it was, but this picture, taken by Philip Thomas, the post-doc who set up and runs this lab, was taken on March 18th of 2020, a few days before the UK lockdown on March 23rd, and shows how it probably is now. Like many experimentalists, we are now busy analysing the data we have acquired over the past few weeks and extracting as much as we can from them. It is good to realise how lucky we have been to devote time and energy to experiments in the past. Now we must plan for the precious time ahead when we have the opportunity to do so again.
